For my senior thesis I designed an exhibit that explores Michel Foucault’s theory of panopticism and how it relates to social media, as well as other cultural phenomena that have developed as a result of these hyperconnected spaces. From progressive hashtag campaigns and the meta nature of meme humor to Snapchat dysmorphia and influencer culture, social media is having profound effects on our culture in ways I believe we've only begun to understand. I created a site-specific installation in the hallway of my school using interactive structures, a large-scale lenticular, visitor participation, and augmented reality to engage people with the content both physically and virtually.
